About

A perfume house born from sense memory.

ALKOOMIE began the way every great fragrance does — with a single, indelible moment. After years working hands-on in the Australian wellness world, Nadia Hunter found herself in the lavender-soaked corridors of Whatley Manor in the English countryside, then managing The Bath House at Bath's Royal Crescent Hotel. Surrounded by the most luxurious organic apothecaries in Europe, something quietly clicked.

She came home determined to bring that same olfactory artistry to Australia — but on her own terms. Pure. Organic. Made the slow way, in small batches, with no shortcuts. ALKOOMIE was one of the first organic perfume houses to launch in Australia, a quiet pioneer in a category that had long forgotten what real botanicals smell like.

Eight years on, every bottle is still hand-blended in Daylesford, Victoria.

Nadia's path to perfumery wound through the holistic arts — sports and remedial massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy. After running a private wellness clinic for five years alongside a chiropractor and homeopath, she understood instinctively how scent moves through the body. How the right note at the right moment can shift a mood, soften a memory, ground a soul. That knowledge lives inside every ALKOOMIE composition.

Along the way, ALKOOMIE has collaborated with ARIA-award-winning artist Katie Noonan on a bespoke fragrance for her jazz trio Elixir — translating music into scent, just as Nadia translates emotion into perfume.

Today, ALKOOMIE perfume house remains what it has always been: an organic Australian perfumer making fragrances for those who want to wear something honest. Something handcrafted. Something that smells the way it should — like the earth, the flowers, and the memory of a place you loved.
